CAI: Who & Why
Community Associations Institute is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to building community association excellence. CAI and its 63 chapters across the US and 4 other nations give board members, managers, and homeowners the legal and practical knowledge to help them lead and enhance responsible community living.
CAI-NC exists to develop professionalism, effective leadership and responsible community engagement through education and advocacy.
CAI-NC is a consistent award-winning chapter, chartered by national CAI in 1988 and serving all of North Carolina.
Members of CAI and its chapters are:
- Association board members and other homeowners – these members enjoy a range of helpful resources to help people who own, rent, or are considering a home in a community association and help volunteer leaders govern their communities more knowledgeably.
- Professional community managers – these members find not only a full menu of education but also a credentialed career path and professional designations recognized across the US and around the world.
- Association management companies – these members find resources to help their company and their client organizations thrive, as well as a company credentialing program.
- Business partner firms - these members gain paths to connect with customers leading community associations.
Non-members enjoy access to many resources from both the chapters and the national organization, and are welcome at all CAI-NC events.
