Community Association Mediation Program - "CAMP"
CAI-NC's Community Association Mediation Program (CAMP) can provide a faster and less expensive alternative to litigation through the involvement of a neutral third party.
CAMP’s goal is to provide a resolution framework between HOA or condo owners and their North Carolina association, and deliver an efficient, economic and fair proceeding for the parties. Our mediators are experienced professionals in the field of association management or law.
Both parties to a dispute must agree between themselves to submit it to mediation before submitting any mediation request. CAI-NC cannot assist in the parties reaching this agreement.
The Basics:
- Cost is $750 for a three-hour mediation session and pre-meeting administrative time, to be split equally between the two parties.
- Both parties must complete the online mediation request form and pay $375 by credit card.
- Upon receipt of both parties' separately completed forms and full payment, both will be contacted by an assigned mediator within 30 days.
(If the second party's request is not received within 30 days of the initial request, the first party's fee will be refunded and no further action taken.) - Mediation will take place via Zoom or other virtual platform unless mutually agreed otherwise, on a mutually agreed date (may require payment of additional fees to cover mediator travel time and expenses).
(If both parties agree to withdraw the dispute from mediation after this date is set, each payment will be refunded less a $75 administrative fee.)
** CAI-NC reserves the right to decline any specific mediation for any reason **
